Led by All-American Caitlin Clark, the Iowa Hawkeyes entered the season with a lofty top 5 preseason ranking. Behind Clark's 27 points per game the Hawkeyes won the Big Ten Tournament title on their way to being a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Clark and the Hawkeyes marched to the Final Four by beating Southeastern Louisiana, Georgia, Colorado and Louisville before knocking off No. 1 seed South Carolina. Iowa would fall two days later to LSU, 102-85.
